How
has your pitching style come about over the years?
My father is my pitching coach. He has developed my
style over the years working closely with Dr. Sheri Warner, a biomechanist.
When
do you plan on retiring and why?
Who knows, Lord willing I would love to for sure
compete in 2 Olympics!
Which
one of your pitches appears to be most effective?
My rise ball. It helps change the hitter’s eye
level and helps set up other pitches.
What
is the highest speed you have reached?
71 mph
Do
you believe you will ever become tired of softball?
I hope not, if I do I will retire! You can’t lose
the fire deep within, once you do it is time to leave the game.
What, in your own personal opinion,
is the key fundamental to becoming a great softball player?
There are many: hard work, dedication, God-given
talent, ability, and competitiveness.
Are
there any regrets or things you would change about your softball career?
My freshman year at Arizona, I was really timid
going into college. I thought it was a different game, it wasn’t. Once I
learned that my game went back to normal. I wouldn’t change it though,
because it helped me learn and move on. I believe I was better my
sophomore, junior, and senior years due to me struggling a bit my freshman
year.
Who
is your favorite fastpitch softball player?
My favorite softball player is one of my best and
dearest friends, Toni Mascarenas!
How does attitude affect a good
softball player?
A good softball player must have a good attitude.
Softball is a team sport and having a good attitude plays a big part in
your team having success. Softball is a game of failure, if you fail 7 or
less times out of 10 at the plate hitting, you're considered a good
hitter. Its a game of learning from your mistakes and making adjustments.
What
is your favorite saying and why?
It is a verse out of the Bible, Philippians 4:13 "I
can do all things in Christ who gives me strength." I say it before every
pitch!
Is there any certain reason you chose
the number 27?
My parents started dating on the 27th, it was their
"number." So I decided to wear it and have been wearing it since I was
10.
If
there was anything you could say to the softball players of the world what
would it be?
Good Luck!!! Believe in yourself. There is always
room for improvement. Push yourself to the max or you will never know
just how good you can be! Love the game!
